Our Story

We started Previve so fewer families hear it too late.

Richard Gilmore, MD, MBA, FACS, DipABLM

What if we had known sooner?

My mother’s cancer was not found until it was already Stage IV. By the time it was discovered, the opportunities to intervene earlier had passed. Like many families facing a cancer diagnosis, we were left asking the question: “What if we had known sooner?”

As a board-certified breast cancer surgeon, I have spent my career caring for patients facing cancer. I have celebrated victories, but I have also witnessed the heartbreak that comes when disease is discovered later than it should have been.

Too often, people are told they are “following the guidelines,” yet their personal risk factors—family history, genetics, lifestyle, and medical history—are never fully integrated into a personalized prevention and early detection strategy.

We believe there is a better way. Previve was founded on a simple idea: cancer prevention and early detection should be personalized, proactive, and built around the individual, not the population.

Our mission is to help individuals better understand their cancer risk, take meaningful action to reduce that risk, and gain confidence that nothing important is being overlooked.

We are building Previve so fewer families hear the words “it’s too late” and more people have the opportunity to act before cancer changes their lives.
